i’m a sucker for a beautiful wedding………who isn’t? there are times when i miss working in event + wedding design. but fortunately, i can still plan virtually with the help of pinterest!
we’re coming up on the holiday season and there are plenty of brides prepping + planning for their fabulous winter-weather nuptials. there are so many style + decor options to choose from when putting together a wedding for this time of year but the results of a recent informal poll had me a bit shocked – when considering color schemes, most people automatically opt for the traditional red + green. now, that’s not to say it’s a bad thing cuz it certainly isn’t! but i decided to think a bit outside the box and i put together a few ideas i think are dreamy…..
you may have noticed that i’m rather partial to blues……… and it’s so versatile for a winter wedding! check out these mood boards i put together. same color family but completely different styles:

there are some good reasons for holding your wedding during the winter holiday season:
- there’s typically more availability for venues given that the warmer months are more popular for weddings;
- by the same token, it will be less expensive since it’s the slower season;
- the venues will more than likely already have holiday decor set up, allowing brides to add to it rather than start from scratch – i love the simplicity + elegance of white lights and candles;
- the likelihood of beautiful outdoor backdrops for photos is incredibly high – just picture the snow covered branches!
elegant, romantic, boho or enchanted……whatever your wedding style, you can make it work!
you can view more winter wedding style ideas (+ so much more!) on my pinterest boards!
so what say you?…………if your planning a winter wedding – or already had one, i’d love to hear about your style! and if you share some pics, that would be icing on the cake!
